Draft. Fill in the operator’s details in the server settings before opening the service to the public.
Booth keeps as little about you as it can: the email or Telegram account you sign in with, your balance and when you used it. Your videos, their sound and the transcripts are never stored.
What we keep
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email, and a password hash, your Google account id or your Telegram account number | To sign you in and to reply when you request minutes |
| Balance, top-ups, and each translation’s time, languages, mode and length in seconds | To count minutes and keep the books |
| Technical figures of each translation: how fast the sound arrived, delays, and your browser and system in two words (e.g. “Firefox 130 · Linux”). Deleted after 30 days. | To find and fix quality problems |
| Pack requests you send from the pricing page or your account | To answer them |
| Messages and ratings you send from the app | To read them and answer you |
That’s all. We don’t ask for your name, don’t store IP addresses, and use no analytics or advertising. We keep this data while your account exists; payment records as long as tax law requires. The legal basis is the contract you enter by using Booth (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legal obligations for payment records (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Your videos
Files play in your browser and are not uploaded. When you share a browser tab in “Perfect sync”, its picture is recorded only inside your browser (to show it a few seconds later, in sync with the translation) and is never sent anywhere; in “Real time” nothing is recorded. If the tab is a call, the other participants’ voices go to the translator too. While a translation runs, only the sound is streamed through our server to our speech-translation provider, which turns it into text, a translation and, if you chose it, a voice. Nothing of it is stored by us; it stays in your browser tab until you close it.
Who else is involved
- Palabra.ai Ltd (UK) translates the sound on our behalf and doesn’t keep it after the translation (its privacy policy). It works mainly in the UK and the EU; if data leaves them, it is protected by the EU standard contractual clauses.
- Our hosting provider, , runs the server (in the EU).
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Telegram, if you sign in with Telegram: we keep only your Telegram account number, not your name, username or photo.
- Telegram: when you request a pack, your email (or Telegram account) and the pack are sent to us as a Telegram message so we can answer you.
Your rights
You can delete your account yourself (click your email in the top bar, then “Delete my account”); your email and sign-in are erased at once. For a copy of your data or anything else, write to . You can also complain to a data protection authority, in Poland the UODO.
