What are we translating?

1. what to translate?

Drop a video or audio file

or browse your computer · MP4, WebM, MOV, MP3, WAV, M4A

Direct links to media files or HLS recordings. The server must allow browser access (CORS).

Hold the phone towards the speaker. Subtitles appear on the screen; the voice plays in your headphones. Listening starts the moment you press the button: nothing said while Booth gets ready is lost.

How to use Booth

  1. 1Pick the language being spoken and yours, and subtitles or the AI voice.
  2. 2Press “Start listening” and allow the microphone. Listening starts at once; the translation catches up in a few seconds.
  3. 3Hold the phone towards the speaker. The screen stays on while Booth listens.

Use headphones for the voice: from the speaker the phone would hear itself. Quiet moments aren’t counted.

  1. 1Pick the languages and how you want it: subtitles or the AI voice.
  2. 2Choose “Perfect sync” for videos, or “Real time” for calls and live streams.
  3. 3Press “Choose a tab”. In Chrome’s window pick the tab and keep “Also share tab audio” on.
  4. 4Start the video or the call in that tab. The translation begins with the first sound; you watch and listen here, the tab itself plays muted.

Works in Chrome and Edge on a computer.

  1. 1Drop a video or audio file on the page, or choose it from your computer.
  2. 2Pick the languages and subtitles or the AI voice.
  3. 3Press “Start live translation”. Booth measures the translation delay for a few seconds, then plays the video in sync with it.

The file stays on your computer: only its sound goes to the translator.

  1. 1Paste a direct link to a video or a broadcast (.mp4, .m3u8) and press “Load”.
  2. 2Pick the languages and subtitles or the AI voice, then press “Start live translation”.
  3. 3A live broadcast is counted while it runs; stop it any time.

For YouTube and other websites, use “Website or call”.

  • Original / TranslationSwitch what you hear; the sliders set each volume.
  • PFloating subtitles over any other window (Chrome, Edge).
  • FFull screen.
  • WWide view: the picture across the page.
  • SpacePause and resume (files and streams).
  • .srt · .txtDownload the subtitles or the transcript at any time.
